PRACTICE

Over the last four years STUDIO MAST has worked on a diverse range of projects involving spatial planning, lighting, electrical, mechanical, and furniture layouts, hard landscaping, decorative scheme development, and design implementation. Past projects range from house and flat renovations and reorganisations, walled gardens and roof terraces, to restaurant developments, VIP university accommodation, and new builds.

The Studio can cover almost all stages of design projects, which can broadly be broken down into these categories:
  • feasibility studies: whether you’re looking to buy somewhere new or make changes to an existing property, an important first step is to dive deep into what you want to get out of a project, how you want to live in a space, and what the budget might be.
  • concept development: once the broad parameters of a project are established, the development of design ideas and a decorative ‘look and feel’ can begin, through close collaboration with the client to understand their needs, aspirations, and preferences.
  • decorative scheme, specification, and sourcing: once the decorative approach is agreed upon, it can be rolled out across the different rooms of a project, producing specifications of treatments, finishes and details for walls, flooring, lighting, furniture, windows, and art. The Studio has a great bank of specialist suppliers in the UK, Europe, Turkey, India, and Morocco, and can organise sourcing trips for clients who like to get involved.
  • working drawings and tendering: as the design concept reaches completion, the drawing can be drafted for use by builders and other trades in the tendering process, either client- or Studio-managed.
  • supply and project management: if desired, the Studio can coordinate trades and crafts and manage the implementation of the design and decorative schemes. We can also supply the finishes and goods we specify, and organise installation and styling.
